The 3-Jaw Counter Centrifugal, Limited Pull Down LS Power Chuck is a high precision, pull down ball chuck. Where concerns about flatness, parallelism, and perpendicularity exist, a pull down chuck is typically preferred. In order to meet these requirements, a pulldown chuck is utilized, to secure the part against a work stop. Where roundness is a concern, the LS utilizes pendulum jaws in order to conform to irregular shaped parts, such as castings and forgings. The LS also offer a counter centrifugal feature which allows the chuck to maintain grip force at higher RPM’s, ideal for today’s advanced materials and cutting tools. The chuck is hermetically sealed against swarf, dust and coolants, and the chuck is internally lubricated, reducing the amount of maintenance required.
The LS comes in both centralizing and compensating designs, and comes, standard in a 3-jaw design. However, 2, 4 and 6 jaw versions have been designed to meet customer needs.
